What is a faucet?
A faucet is ‘A device that controls the flow of liquid, esp. water, out of a pipe’. It is any fixture for drawing or regulating the flow of liquid.
What is the difference between a tap and a faucet?
Faucet is the most common term in the US, whereas tap is used more in British English.
How does a faucet work?
There are many different types of faucets. All are designed by engineers to fulfil a certain objective. There are ones you have to pull a lever to turn on, push button taps or ones you screw in to turn on. Some faucets don’t even need physical touch to turn on, you just wave underneath and hey presto; water. Most faucets, however, use a common simple machine such as a screw or a lever to produce the force needed to stop water from flowing. Water in the pipes in your house is held at a pressure higher than the pressure of the air around you. This pressure difference is what causes the water to come up from the ground-level pipes coming into your house, and out through the faucet.
What faucets do we have at ScopeNEXT?
The fixtures available at ScopeNEXT are made for barrels and containers and come with a variety of closure options. Our taps allow you to release liquids safely avoiding the risk of injury in the workplace. Drum taps screw into the barrel to avoid leaks and spillages. Each tap has a spout that points downwards with various handles to operate the tap. The range is available in different sizes depending on the size of the barrel and its contents. - ANTI-GLUG DRUM TAP
This general purpose all-plastic tap / faucet is ideal for all barrels or containers and incorporates an “anti-glug” feature for efficient no-splash dispensing.The anti-glug drum taps are available with a variety of closure options: DIN 51, 61 or 71.
- SNXD 315 SMALL DRUM TAP
Small drum tap, best used to dispense smaller quantities of liquids quickly. The handle is designed to be ribbed to ensure a better grip, allowing a more controlled motion whilst using the tap. The polyethylene body is also very hard wearing and long lasting.
- HIGH-FLOW DRUM TAP
This Polyethylene drum tap is ideal to use with large containers where the contents have to be dispensed very quickly but safely. Most commonly used in industry. The EPT Gasket (colour may vary) ensures no dripping with a strong connection to the container itself. The large handle is designed to ensure the tap can be used with ease and better control.
- SNXD 312 SMALL DRUM TAP
The SNXD312 is a white small drum tap, designed to dispense liquids from, ideally, 25 litre containers. The ribbed handle ensures a better grip to assist with a more controlled output function. Best to be used with any liquid that needs to be dispensed quickly.
